High Commisioner for the Republic of Malta to Australia attends 2021 ANZAC Day National Ceremony

ANZAC day is a time for reflection and commemoration of the bravery shown by the Australia-New Zealand Armed Corps in various campaigns, on the anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign. The ANZAC connection with Malta is significant. To this end, H.E. Mr. Mario Farrugia Borg, High Commissioner, attended the 2021 ANZAC Day National Ceremony at the Australian War Memorial held on 25 April 2021, in Canberra.

After the cancellation of last year’s Ceremony, this year’s ceremony was downscaled with attendance numbers limited due to the ongoing global health pandemic. Nevertheless, the foreign diplomatic corps was well represented with the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps laying the wreath on behalf of the diplomatic community.

Immediately after the National Ceremony, the High Commissioner attended the French ANZAC Day Ceremony & reception held at the Embassy of France, honouring Australians who perished in French soil.
