Remembrance Day 2016

High Commissioner Charles Muscat attended the Remembrance Day 2016 Ceremony at the Australian War Memorial on 11 November 201 and laid a wreath on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Malta.

Present in this year’s ceremony were Governor General of Australia, Sir Peter Cosgrove, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Opposition Leader Bill Shorten, Australian War Memorial Director, Dr. Brendan Nelson, to name a few, and foreign diplomats, who also laid wreaths at the Stone of Remembrance to honor the fallen soldiers.

3700 gathered this year at the Australian War Memorial this year to remember the more than 102,000 Australians who lost their lives in wars and other operations.
